RULES FOR +2 CLASSES

The College offers teaching facilities in Arts and Science streams at plus two level which are of two years duration and affiliated to Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha.

Stream wise strength :

Arts – 224 Seats
Science – 64 Seats

Minimum qualification : A student who has passed the H.S.C Examination conducted by B.S.E., Orissa or any other examination equivalent to B.S.E., Orissa is eligible to take admission provided he/she fulfils the admission criteria.

COURSE STRUCTURE :

1. Plus two Arts – Total Seats – 224 (seats)
   a) Compulsory subject – English, MIL (O) Alternative English / Hindi
   b) Optional Subject – (1) History – 224
2. Political Science – 224 3. Economics – 128
3. Oriya – 128 5. Logic – 118
4. Education (118 seats) (any three to be chosen)
   Fourth Optional – Pol. Science, Economics, Oriya, Logic.

II. Plus two Science – Total Seats – 64

a) Compulsory subject – English, MIL (O) / Hindi / A.E

b) Optional Subject – 1) Physics.

2) Chemistry

3) Mathematics

4) Biology

ADMISSION & EXAMINATION RULES FOR +3 CLASSES

The College offers teaching facilities in Arts and Science for the award of Bachelor’s Degree under Utkal University. The Bachelor’s Degree course spreads over three academic years.

Stream wise seat strength.

i) Arts – 256 seats

Arts (Hons) Odia – 48 History – 48

Pol. Sc. – 48 Edn. – 32 Eco – 16

ii) Science – Physical Sc. – 64 Biological Sc. – 64 seats

Physics Hons – 24 Math – 8

Chemistry – 24 Botany – 32 Zoology – 16

Science :

a) Physical Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) – 64

b) Biological Science (Botany, Zoology) – 64

Arts Stream (Pass and Honours)

B.A. Pass : The course structure and marks distribution for B.A. Pass shall be as follows.

Pass without Honours and with Distinction :

A minimum of 30% in each paper and a minimum of 36% in aggregate in the subjects other than Honours and a minimum of 50% in aggregate for pass subjects.

Second Class Honours :

In addition to second class Honours a minimum of 45% marks secured in subjects and 50% other than Honours in first appearance and 60% or more in Honours.

First class Honours :

A minimum of 30% marks in each paper and minimum of 36% marks in aggregate in subjects other than Honours and a minimum of 60% or more in Honours.

First Class Honours and with Distinction : In addition to first class Honours a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in subjects other than Honours in First appearance and 60% or more in Honours.
