Brief History, Present & Vision of the College
Begunia College, Begunia has the distinction of being the first Degree College (in 1985) in Begunia Block which was established in the year 1978. The journey started with founder of the College Late Comrade Gangadhar Paikray, Freedom Fighter & Leader in Communist Party of India (12th July 1915 – 31st August 1999)(then first MLA of Begunia-Bolagarh Constituency in 1961 & re-elected in 1967 &1971) and local intelligentsia of the Begunia Block giving a thought of opening a college for the then Matric passed students of the remote villages in the vicinity. Wit great efforts and perseverance their dream materialized on 17th July 1978 (Celebrated as Foundation Day of the College) and helped the students in the region to have easy access to College Education which would otherwise have remained a distant dream for many of them.
